#mezzopower Ending 2022 and starting 2023 on the Dec.-Jan. cover of Opéra Magazine after all these 10 amazing mezzis in the part 7 years is just a dream. The first time I held this magazine, my mum had just bought it for me saying : "Look, I found a new magazine about opera." I was around 15, and I answered : "What do you want me to do with this??" 🤣🤣🤣. Who could've imagined that I would be on that same cover 20 years later 😅. So for 2023 : believe in your dreams, even the ones you haven't yet because, as says the song, "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it!"

#jumpin You know that in last years I have done numerous jump-in, from learning an entire title role in a weekend to singing another part in the middle of the performance or, most recently, joining a prestigious cast. Jumping in is never an easy exercice but can give you numerous opportunities. Since I have received many questions about it, I'll share my thoughts with you.

4. Always prepare yourself to the most demanding
5. Trust yourself and listen to the right people

Overall it's all about balance : mesure the opportunity and the risks. If you feel ready, don't be shy and go for it! But if not, don't shoot yourself in the foot. A singer career is a long journey and everything should come in time. Life is about luck sometimes, but it's mostly about seizing the right opportunities and making a coup. If many famous singers career have started with a jump-in story, there's a reason 😁.

Summer is coming to an end and 💛 will definitely have been my colour for 2022 summer :
On the left the dress I bought only a few days before I left Savonlinna at a 🇫🇮 designer's shop thinking I was just going home for August;
On the right Amneris's Act I dress in Salzburg I wore only a few days after.
Just the same color, fabric, style 😲. If that's not my good star (or sun in this case 😁).

Amneris Summer - Did you know that exactly one month separated my absolute debut as Amneris @savonlinnanoopperajuhlat and my jump-in for the opening night in the same part @salzburgerfestspiele ? My agent always says : "don't, because whatever they say the most important is what you (and the relevant people around you) think and feel about your performance". But since we opened last friday, so many of you sent me amazing reviews I felt for once like sharing them, well because Salzburg is anyway THE exception isn't it?

#womensday Today more than any other day I'm grateful as a woman to be allowed to do sport, to cook only for my pleasure, to explore the world alone, to drink alcohol if I feel like it, to look stupid and dirty, to be well healed when I'm in pain, to chose the one I love and live with, to do crafts around the house, to dress as I wish and as short as I wish, to travel unattended, to dance in public, and most of all to go on stage! Most of these things are forbidden to most of the women in this world in 2022! Let's be grateful for what we have and continue to fight for what still needs to be gained.

This season's run of Eboli is over! It was so amaz

This season's run of Eboli is over! It was so amazing to sing at home for a few months. On top of being part of a great production with very sweet and professional colleagues, I've been hiking and skiing while performing Don Carlos and singing other concerts abroad.

December has been away from the mountains as I was rehearsing the new Carmen production at La Monnaie. We were to open next week, and I was supposed to go back to Brussels tonight. Unfortunately, as it has been announced last week, the full run in Brussels has been canceled due to immediate and side consequences of the Covid pandemic 😭💔.

I am of course very affected by this decision. It's difficult for all means to lose a third Carmen production in less than 2 years. But as you know, I'm always positive and see the bright side of the medal. I will, therefore, for example take the opportunity to have a bit of free time to get headed of the numerous débuts and roles I will perform in the next months and season. Carmen is, of course, on the menu! Hopefully, first in Luxembourg, where the Tcherniakov production was to be given in March 🤞🤞🤞. The castanets are not yet to be put in the cellar!
